We were able to meet our requirements by using a java Timer and Timertask to kick off the jobs. Still it was bothering me that I could not come up with a solution such as the one you suggested.
I was way off base with how I was trying to solve this problem. I was grabbing the JNDI datasource using ORMI and trying to use those connection values to connect a DBTransactionImpl2 and use it to create an application module. It got to a point where ADF didn't even give me an error message, haha.

Once again thank you and I can't wait for your next update.Norman Stonewallhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13593197889139403652noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4496361440376457974.post-91977988554570516222010-04-16T00:08:29.714-07:002010-04-16T00:08:29.714-07:00Thanks Norman!

I have read alot of your articles and find them very descriptive and helpful.

Unfortunately I think the way I am trying to use the application module is not possible. We have a class with a main method that is started as a cron job in unix. In the main method I am trying to access the application module without a front end. We have found a work around, however I wanted to keep exploring this solutiong.

Thanks for the great articles.Norman Stonewallhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13593197889139403652noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4496361440376457974.post-40621061715696738482010-04-15T04:50:10.532-07:002010-04-15T04:50:10.532-07:00You may need to add oracle.adf.share.http.ServletA...You may need to add oracle.adf.share.http.ServletADFFilter to the web.xml file(use filter element in web.xml) and provide url-pattern mapping (use filter-mapping element in web.xml) for the same. You can refer the sample attached, which contains mapping for CustomBindingFilter, similar way create mapping for ServletADFFilter.
